Review: Construction Cars Set [AD]
Do you have kids who are obsessed with toy cars? My boys are both real motor heads, so were really excited when we were recently sent a set of Cat® construction cars from Toy State to review.
We took them with us on our Summer holidays – despite the boys and I sharing a suitcase between the three of us, they took up little space and weighed next to nothing as they are made of plastic. Of course, when you are playing with construction cars, you really want to literally get dug in to something with them, but with the local playground closed after recent flooding, we came up with another idea – rice!
We re-appropriated a large plate and a tupper-box from my mum’s kitchen, and filled each with some dry rice. The boys then spent hours sitting at the table in the garden, getting the construction cars to transport the rice from one ‘site’ to another. They even managed it without fighting, which seems like a miracle! Of course, if you have sand to hand you could do the same with sand, and the plastic cars can easily be washed if they get dirty.
I was a little worried the plastic cars would not be as durable as the other metal cars we have, but it’s been two months since we were on holiday, and the cars are still going strong. I would definitely recommend them.
And if you are looking for other ideas that you could do with toy construction cars, here’s the birthday cake I made for Oskar two years ago:
I used different cars back then, but this little set would be perfect for a cake like this too! You can find the full step-by-step guide in my previous blog post.
Do you have any other ideas on how to use this set of toy construction cars? I would love to hear about them! Please feel free to share any ideas in the comments below.
